For this episode we turn to jazz, a culture once pushed to the margins and labeled as dangerous, to sounds later embraced and reframed within more elitist spaces only for it to be reclaimed and (re-)urbanised. We look at that tension and what it reveals about culture, power and ownership. From there we move forward into nu jazz and broken beat, following how the spirit of improvisation, rhythm and freedom continues to evolve. Different eras, different contexts, but a shared language that still feels alive.
